Job Description Mechanical Maintenance Manager – Hard Services Provider – SE London - up to 60K
One of our long-standing clients is currently looking to recruit a Mechanical Maintenance Manager to join their busy estates team, servicing and maintaining a key contract in South East London.
We seek an experienced Maintenance Manager capable of providing first-class customer service, organizing, managing, and motivating the engineering team, and supporting senior management.
The role reports directly to the Estates Director, with whom you'll work closely daily.
The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8-5. The main duties include:
1. Managing all mechanical services and associated engineering contracts.
2. Ensuring statutory compliance.
3. Overseeing building services, infrastructure, maintenance, and repairs.
4. Supporting project management for refurbishment projects.
5. Maintaining plant, backup, and monitoring systems, including regular testing and compliance with legislation.
6. Providing troubleshooting engineering support.
7. Supporting infrastructure adjustments, liaising with user groups, preparing documentation, appointing contractors, and supervising sites.
8. Controlling outsourced contracts.
9. Ensuring contractor adherence to procedures and legislation.
10. Monitoring costs for value for money and market trends.
11. Leading regular update meetings with contract managers.
12. Managing mechanical incidents and outages.
13. Leading initiatives to identify additional work opportunities and technical solutions.
14. Providing technical guidance to maintain high standards in mechanical systems and swift defect rectification.
15. Coordinating resources for technical and innovative solutions.
16. Driving sustainability efforts to improve energy efficiency through operational enhancements and innovative technologies.
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
* Recognized apprenticeship and full mechanical qualification (e.g., C&G, HNC/HND).
* Proven experience in a hard services maintenance role.
* Experience managing contractors.
* Experience working in estate environments such as hospitals or healthcare facilities.
* A team player with problem-solving skills, capable of working under pressure and utilizing innovative solutions.
* Committed to working in a professional, quality environment.
* Strong people management skills.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
