Looked After Children Social Worker

The Role
The London Borough of Bexley is seeking a committed and experienced Social Worker to join our Looked After Children team. This role focuses on providing stable, high-quality support to children and young people in care, ensuring they have every opportunity to reach their full potential.
You will manage a dedicated caseload, working closely with foster carers, residential providers, and birth families to champion the best interests of every child.
Key Responsibilities
* Creating and implementing robust care plans that prioritize stability and permanence.
* Conducting regular statutory visits and ensuring the voice of the child is heard.
* Leading and contributing to Looked After Children (LAC) reviews and pathway planning.
* Collaborating with health and education partners to ensure a holistic support package.
* Preparing high-quality reports and representing the authority in court when required.
Requirements
* Proven experience working with children in care or within a permanency setting.
* Strong understanding of the Children Act 1989 and relevant safeguarding legislation.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with young people.
* Active Social Work England registration and a recognized professional qualification.
