Teaching Personnel are proud to be working in partnership with a nurturing primary school in Worthing to recruit a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated SEN unit.
This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a specialist provision supporting children with a range of additional needs, including Autism, speech and language difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
About the Role
You will work closely with a team of experienced staff to support pupils both in small groups and on a 1:1 basis. The SEN unit provides a structured and supportive environment, tailored to meet the individual needs of each child.
Key Responsibilities
Support pupils with a range of SEN within the unit and occasionally in mainstream classrooms
Assist in delivering personalised learning programmes
Use positive behaviour strategies to support emotional regulation
Encourage communication, independence, and social development
Collaborate with teachers, SENCo, and external professionals
We’re Looking For Someone Who:
Has experience working with children with SEN (school-based or similar)
Is calm, patient, and adaptable in their approach
Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils
Is proactive and willing to learn new strategies and techniques
Has a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
