Overview
We’re looking for a Customer Service Assistant to join our team at One Stop, a subsidiary of Tesco. You will be working in a fast paced retail environment where no day is the same.
You will play an important role in the day-to-day operations of our store activities by providing excellent customer service, stocking shelves, processing payments and helping maintain the store’s appearance. As the customer is at the heart of everything we do, you will be constantly looking for ways to improve service in your store through on the job coaching and feedback. With your guidance, your store will always remain a safe place to work and shop.
Responsibilities
* Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride, delivering great natural service.
* Encourage customers to provide feedback on their shopping trip by completing the “have your say” survey.
* Work across all areas of the store including online, tills, replenishment, vending and stock routines to ensure tasks are completed to meet customer needs.
* Put training into practice to ensure work is performed safely.
* Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create a great inclusive atmosphere.
* Be knowledgeable about store performance and understand the role you play to deliver profit.
* Follow company values, make customers feel welcome, and adhere to store policies.
* Clock in and out at the start and end of your shift to ensure accurate payment for hours worked.
* Maintain safety by following security procedures and wearing safety equipment where available.
* Follow the Think 25 policy when serving age-restricted products to all customers.
* Respond quickly to assistance calls or interventions on self-service checkouts and explain actions to customers.
* Maintain a clean, tidy and organized store environment with clear aisles.
* May be responsible for running the shift in the absence of a Shift Leader or Store Manager.
* Follow all training to keep yourself, others and the store safe and legal.
* If the store has a Post Office Local, duties may include day-to-day Post Office operations and you may be required to undertake a Post Office financial and criminal conviction background check; if checks fail, the job offer may be withdrawn.
