About the Role
We are seeking an experienced PSA Engineer (DTS) to join a leading technology and transformation project within the energy and utilities sector. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on maintaining, configuring, and optimising Energy Management Systems (EMS) and Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) environments.
Youll play a key role in ensuring high availability and reliability of critical EMS applications while contributing to ongoing development, model validation, and defect resolution.
Key Responsibilities
* Gather requirements and define Epics and User Stories.
* Administer and optimise EMS applications (preferably GE PowerOn Reliance (XA21) or AEMS).
* Configure and troubleshoot protocols such as ICCP, IEC, DNP3, Modbus, and data modelling (XML/JSON).
* Perform model validation and event creation for Dispatcher Training Simulator (DTS) .
* Implement fixes, patches, and upgrades in live customer systems.
* Conduct code reviews, deployments, and testing activities.
* Support and restore EMS services during incidents.
Skills & Experience Required
* 5+ years experience in Power System Applications (Power Flow, State Estimator, Contingency Analysis, AGC, DTS).
* Strong technical understanding of EMS/SCADA systems and related applications.
* Proficiency in Linux and Windows environments.
* Knowledge of Oracle and SQL Server databases.
* Experience with C/C++, PERL, Shell scripting, or SQL scripting .
* Familiarity with simulation tools (Simulated RTU/IED/Console).
* Excellent problem-solving skills with experience in troubleshooting complex EMS systems.
Desirable
* Experience with GE XA21, eTerra, or AEMS platforms .
* Hands-on experience with DTS, ADMS, or SCADA .
* Exposure to QTest or Grip tools .
* Strong understanding of electrical transmission modelling .
