Welcome session (bradley workshop)

Bilston
Canal & River Trust
Posted: 24 November
Offer description

Are you interested in volunteering at the Canal and River Trust but don’t know where to start? Our Welcome Sessions are the perfect place to meet the local teams, talk to our volunteers, and see the range of activities you could get involved with. You can find an opportunity that best suits your interests, skills, availability and ability, whether that’s outside on the canals, at one of our attractions, or from the comfort of home.

Ever wondered what goes on behind the scenes to keep our canals flowing and want to get involved? Join us for a special volunteer welcome session at the Bradley Workshop.

Located in the West Midlands, Bradley is one of only two specialist workshops in the country where skilled craftspeople hand build the giant lock gates that keep Britain’s canals working. We are looking for volunteers to join the team and help triage the returning lock gate metal work. This is your chance to step inside, meet the team, and discover how volunteers can help keep this vital heritage alive.

Whether you’re already a volunteer or just curious about getting involved, come along to explore, ask questions, and see how you can play a part in protecting our waterways.

Join us at Bradley Workshop, Bradley Ln, Bilston WV14 8 between 10am-12pm or 1pm-3pm to explore what volunteering in the Trust could look like for you. We have Paul Griffiths (Workshop Supervisor) to talk about how volunteers can support them and help keep the canals flowing.

Why we want you

You don’t need to bring anything but yourself or have any prior knowledge about canals- this is just a chance to dip your toe into volunteering at the Trust. Sign up and meet us for a great day volunteering.
