The Mechanical Supervisor is a key role within the Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of assets, plant productivity, and reliability. As the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor, you will:
Report directly to the Maintenance Manager and oversee Mechanical Maintenance Technicians and Mechanical Shift Maintenance Technicians.
This role is essential for maintaining site safety standards, ensuring compliance with site and industry regulations, and operating as a top-tier COMAH Site. You will work closely with operations to meet quality requirements related to ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001, and cGMP, including cross-contamination prevention.
Responsibilities include taking full ownership of Mechanical Maintenance activities, ensuring tasks are completed safely and timely, and collaborating with the Planning & Scheduling team and Site Engineers to enhance plant reliability.
Main Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Health, Safety, and Environmental Standards: Maintain standards during all work activities, including breakdowns, PMs, compliance work, and defect management. Ensure work orders are closed in the CMMS system.
2. Team Management: Manage day-to-day operations of the Mechanical Maintenance team, including work allocation, reviewing work packs, ensuring RAMS are adequate, and monitoring progress.
3. Work Execution: Take responsibility for priority work from defect reporting to completion, including raising PRs, organizing resources, and documenting work.
4. Administrative Duties: Manage timekeeping, holidays, disciplinary matters, and deputize for the Maintenance Manager.
5. Planning and Scheduling: Collaborate with the Planner to develop job packs, RAMS, and schedules, and contribute to RCAs for continuous improvement.
6. Problem Solving: Address mechanical faults and work delivery issues promptly.
SHEQ Responsibilities
* Ensure all Environmental, Health & Safety requirements are met during maintenance activities.
* Promote a positive safety culture within the team.
* Ensure work is performed safely and according to company guidelines.
* Report accidents, near misses, and suggest improvements.
Equipment Management
* Ensure timely completion of PMs, compliance, and regulatory work orders.
* Supervise Technicians, prioritize work, and support projects and changeovers.
* Coordinate with OEM contractors for inspections and future maintenance planning.
