An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Service Manager for the Urology Services this role provides operational support and leadership to the services which are based across several hospital sites.
The Service Manager will provide day-to-day operational management support for the Urology Services lead the administration teams as well as support the General manager and Clinicians with project management and service improvement initiatives.
They will also support the development and implementation of projects to improve service delivery and patient experience in key areas and will help to ensure that performance and quality targets are met.
Main duties of the job
In conjunction with the General Manager, SDU Lead, and Matron the post-holder will work across organisational boundaries to ensure appropriate services are in place and to deliver national and local strategic and operational service objective’s and standards.
The Service Manager is responsible for working with the General Manager to ensure the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the Clinical Services and delivering key quality, performance and financial plans, achieving key service improvements within the service and line managing appropriate staff within designated clinical units.
The post-holder is a key member of the Clinical Directorate management team and will develop and implement Directorate plans to secure the agreed objectives for the Clinical Directorate and make a positive contribution to delivery of health care across the local health community.
The post-holder will be responsible for providing timely, efficient and effective operational management support, with the overall aim of ensuring that services are responsive and provided to the highest possible clinical and performance standards.

17. In depth knowledge of elective admissions including theatre scheduling of managing booked admissions
18. Experience of managing a large team cross site for both admin and support staff
19. Knowledge and experience of validation processes
20. Suggesting innovative and lasting solutions to problems and difficulties
21. Up-to-date knowledge of defined service areas, including current issues in service delivery, patient pathways
22. Effective verbal and written communication to facilitate effective working with clinical staff, patients and carers, and work colleagues
23. Ability to analyse and interpret complex and varied information in order to identify issues and solutions to
24. Ability to write management reports and on key performance and service issues
25. Understanding of the importance of good Human Resources practice
26. Ability to demonstrate behaviours and attitudes consistent with Trust values and service standards
