Responsibilities
* Dispensing discharge, inpatient, specialist outpatient and off‑site unit prescription requests.
* Dispensing discharge and stock‑controlled drug prescription requests.
* Ensuring pharmacy waste and medication returns are dealt with appropriately and disposed of or returned according to Trust waste guidelines and departmental procedures.
* Providing reception and delivery support where applicable.
* Ordering and maintaining stock as part of an allocated weekly ward top‑up.
* Participation in the weekend and bank holiday rota.
You will gain experience in the pharmacy dispensary while working towards a Level 2 qualification in pharmacy. Previous pharmacy experience is an advantage, but full training will be provided to the successful candidate. Applications are also welcomed from candidates who already hold a recognised Level 2 qualification in pharmacy; such applicants, if successful at interview, will be appointed at band 3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapt to changing demands and commit to providing a high‑quality, patient‑focused service. Candidates must have GCSEs in Maths and English at grade C/4 or above (or an equivalent qualification) and must meet the essential criteria of the person specification.
