Overview
Lead Clinician role at Cheswold Park Hospital. 1 X Vacancy for Lead Clinician. CAMHS passion welcomed; opportunity to lead our current clinical work and develop the clinical skills of the team.
The service provides assessments and interventions for Children and Young People with moderate to severe complex emotional, behavioural and psychological issues resulting in mental health difficulties. The post holder will work alongside the team manager and other lead clinicians to develop and implement new and innovative ways of delivering evidence-based treatments.
Responsibilities
* Lead clinical work alongside the team manager and other lead clinicians in the service.
* Provide clinical supervision, caseload management supervision and teaching.
* Case hold within this role.
* Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and promote safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
* Develop and implement innovative ways of delivering evidence-based treatments.
* Travel between the service locations (Airedale Health Centre, Castleford; Drury Lane Health Centre, Wakefield) and cover Wakefield and the 5 towns. Being a car driver is essential due to potential distance for home/clinic visits.
Working pattern
The service operates Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm with flexibility to work occasional extended hours as needed to facilitate service effectiveness.
Location
Airedale Health Centre, The Square, Castleford, West Yorkshire, WF10 3JJ; travel to Wakefield and surrounding towns as required.
Experience and Qualifications
* Essential: Relevant professional qualification (e.g., nursing or allied to medicine).
* Post-qualification training in identified portfolio (e.g., LD, LAC, eating disorder).
* Dip SW or relevant mental health profession.
* A teaching and assessing qualification.
* Membership of a professional body.
* Extensive post-qualification experience, including working with Children, Young People, and their carers in mental health or other complex care settings; experience delivering training to others; knowledge of equality and diversity; multidisciplinary team working; inter-agency liaison and consultation; advanced safeguarding experience; and evidence-based practice in mental health.
* Desirable: Postgraduate qualification in mental health (e.g., CBT, Family Therapy, Counselling); Masters level qualification; formal management/supervisory qualification.
Special Knowledge/Skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage own caseload and function autonomously.
* Strong negotiation, problem-solving, care planning, and risk assessment capabilities.
* IT competence and strong record keeping.

* Ability to work under pressure; calm, confident, innovative, and assertive.
