Job Description:
General Description: Director of Campus Operations provides direct support to the Campus Provost for the management and/or coordination of the campus budget and other non-academic functions of the campus. In addition, the Director of Campus Operations acts as a liaison between the campus and the college offices of Financial Services and Administrative Services to ensure effective coordination and completion of essential campus projects.
Duties and Tasks:
1. Facilities planning
2. Supervision of Campus Storeroom staff and operations
3. Campus coordination of fixed asset management processes
4. Space management
5. Emergency and safety planning/management
6. Special project management related to campus needs.
7. Acts as a liaison between the campus and the college offices of Financial Services and Administrative Services
8. Ensure effective coordination and completion of essential campus projects.
9. DCO plays an integral role in business continuity planning, especially as it relates to operations and logistics.
10. Make regular requests from employees for updates and input on college decisions and share feedback with supervisors for inclusion in the NOVA Brief.
Minimum Qualifications:
KSAs
11. Knowledge of operations, services, and activities of the campus
12. Knowledge of principles and procedures for tracking a large budget
13. Knowledge of processes and procedures for tracking and monitoring fixed assets to comply with Commonwealth requirements
14. Knowledge of NOVA, VCCS and/or State of Virginia polices and administrative processes.
15. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
16. Skilled in the use of computer software, including Microsoft Office Suite and spreadsheet preparation.
17. Skilled in budget management and tracking.
18. Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy to work with college administration, faculty, staff, students, and visitors.
19. Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and in a team environment.
Minimum Work Experience:
