Do you have a knack for cleanliness? Are you an organised person who enjoys working in the kitchen? Do you enjoy lake views, exploring the fells, and paddle boarding after work? If so, we want you!
Join us and be a part of a team that values connection, flexibility, variety, challenge, and making a positive impact on people's lives. We're all about making a meaningful impact on our guest’s holiday. Our three core values - We Care, We Notice, We Change – show what it means to work for a hotel that goes above and beyond for our team and guests.
The Role:
At Another Place, The Lake, the kitchen is not just a place of work but a vibrant and enjoyable environment where teamwork thrives. As a kitchen porter, you'll be an integral part of this dynamic team.
With your dedication and attention to detail, you'll help maintain a clean and organised kitchen, transforming it into a hub of creativity and culinary joy. Your responsibilities include washing and sanitising dishes, keeping the kitchen tidy, and supporting kitchen operations to ensure a smooth workflow.
Additionally, you'll assist chefs with ingredient preparation, handle deliveries with a positive attitude, and support various kitchen tasks. Your enthusiasm and willingness to go the extra mile will enhance teamwork and contribute to a pleasant work environment.
Joining our team means being part of a community that values excellence, innovation, and kindness. We promote work-life balance, professional development, and opportunities for growth within our supportive environment.
What your days could look like:
* Ensure all kitchen equipment, utensils, floors, and surfaces are cleaned satisfactorily as per instructions from the Executive Chef and Head Chef.
* Assist with other duties assigned by the Executive Chef, Head Chef, and management.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene in compliance with hotel policies and legal requirements.
* Promptly remove and replace refuse bags and bins, and clear spillages.
* Clean the floor area daily or as directed by the Chef.
* Sweep and clean corridors and passageways in the kitchen.
* Wash crockery and cutlery, and keep work surfaces tidy.
* Clean all pots in the pot wash area and maintain cleanliness of the area.
* Assist with food preparation for daily service.
* Support the smooth running of all kitchen and back-of-house operations.
* Maintain an organised, clean, and safe workspace for yourself and colleagues.
* Record all waste appropriately; do not remove items without supervisor approval and proper documentation.
* Be flexible with working hours and shift patterns.
* Show interest and passion for the food industry.
* Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
* Be a team player, guest-focused, responsible, and environmentally conscious.
What we can offer in return:
* A relaxed, professional work environment in a beautiful lakeside location.
* Excellent career prospects within our expanding organization.
* Special rates for staff and their friends & family at our hotels.
