Reed Finance is working with a growing and forward-thinking organisation operating within the financial services sector. Due to this growth, they are seeking a Senior Financial Controller to join the business in a newly created position.
We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Senior Financial Controller to support the Chief Finance Officer and play a key role in shaping the financial direction of the business. This position will oversee core financial operations, lead finance-related projects, and provide critical insights to support executive decision-making. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with commercial awareness and leadership capability.Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Reporting• Assist in the preparation of monthly and statutory financial reports in line with agreed timelines.• Oversee daily finance operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance.• Consolidate financial data across multiple entities for board-level reporting and audits.• Manage cash flow and ensure regulatory compliance in bank reconciliations.• Monitor aged debt and oversee the management of segregated accounts.
Revenue Oversight• Collaborate with the MI team to ensure accurate revenue tracking across diverse product lines.• Supervise claim float management.• Ensure payment systems are compliant and efficient.
Project Leadership• Lead finance-driven projects, from concept through to implementation, including defining KPIs and performance metrics.• Manage cross-functional initiatives, including vendor selection, budgeting, and testing.• Provide financial insights to support strategic business development.
Essential Skills & Experience• Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).• Minimum 5 years’ experience in industry or practice, ideally within a regulated financial services environment.• Strong understanding of balance sheet management and statutory reporting.• Experience managing high-volume financial transactions and complex revenue streams.• Proven ability to lead projects in an agile environment.• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Sage or similar accounting software.• Experience in financial modelling and data analysis.
