Additionally, you'll join a wider team of over 25 paediatric specialist nurses, community children's nurses, and safeguarding specialists--opening doors to broaden your expertise across various paediatric disciplines.


Main duties of the job

The post holder will;

* provide evidenced based, high quality assessment and care to children and their families attending the Emergency Department
* supervise, support and educate other team members, including nursing and medical students
* develop and maintain advanced Emergency Nursing skills
* advise on health promotion and prevention of illness/injury
* advocate for children and families
* ensure safe and effective clinical practice and enhance patient experience.
* ensure the promotion and implementation of trust policies and the effective delivery of organisational objectives

St George's, Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals and Health Group cares for a population of four million people in South West London and North East Surrey. Our sites include St George's Hospital, one of 11 major trauma centres in the UK and the largest healthcare provider and major teaching hospital in the area; St Helier Hospital, home to the South West Thames Renal and Transplantation Unit and Queen Mary's Hospital for Children; and Epsom Hospital, home to the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre (SWLEOC).

Person Specification


Qualifications

* RN Child with NMC registration
* Degree in relevant health subject


Experience

* oPrioritising and organising work load, delegating and supervising tasks appropriately oanalysing, resolving issues and making sound judgements on clinical issues, using initiative, whilst demonstrating an awareness of own limits oworking collaboratively with multiple members of the internal and external multidisciplinary team oability to assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care
* omentorship, teaching and assessing


Knowledge

* oAcute, chronic and emergency paediatric care oSafeguarding children and Young People within the Emergency Department


Skills

* oExcellent communication skills, both written and verbal oCaring and compassionate towards patients, families and colleagues oAble to remain calm, focused and work under pressure oCommitted to personal and professional development oEvidence of self awareness and reflective practice
