About the Role
The Charge Nurse Manager Surgical leads the care and coordination of clinical practice across the 40 bed Surgical Ward and the Day Patient Service at Timaru Hospital, ensuring there is a focus on contemporary practice and patient centred care. Surgical services provided include, General, Orthopaedic, Gynaecological, Urology and ENT Surgery.
The role is supported by an Associate Charge Nurse Manager who works across both services actively overseeing clinical practice and ensuring multi-disciplinary team involvement in patient care delivery within these two departments.
About you
Ideally you will have previous leadership experience or hold strong aspirations toward taking on a leadership role. We are looking for someone who has what it takes to effectively lead a team; including the ability to solve problems, demonstrate sound professional judgement with excellent communication skills. Extensive post graduate experience in surgical and medical nursing will be an advantage.
Specific requirements include:
* Role Model in contemporary clinical practice and credibility in your profession
* Recent, relevant clinical experience
* Currently holds or working towards a post graduate diploma or higher
* Develop and maintain Senior Registered Nurse PDRP
* NZ Nursing Council Registration and Current APC

Salary Range
This role is covered by the terms and conditions of the relevant Nursing Collective, and the Pay Scale, determined on relevant experience.
