Overview
South Hams District Council and West Devon Borough Council are two ambitious local authorities working together to provide services to our communities. Our Councils have adopted new, exciting, innovative and forward-looking corporate strategies setting out our visions and priorities for our unique areas.
Responsibilities
* Provide project management and leadership to a range of Capital Delivery and Infrastructure projects impacting on services across the Council.
* Lead, plan and control several projects at any one time and matrix manage project team members (including externally sourced resources) to successfully deliver project outcomes.
* Develop and embed the Councils' approach to Project Management.
* Support delivery across projects in areas such as housing, carbon reduction programmes, coastal protection and waste management.
* Engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to secure buy-in and successful project outcomes.
Qualifications and Experience
* Demonstrable, recent and significant project management experience (e.g., design a brief, procurement, VFM assessments, business cases and report writing).
* Ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
* Background could vary from RICS (building surveyor), Civil Engineering or CIOB, but real-world experience is equally important.
