Underwriter – Income Protection

What you’ll do:
* Assess the risk of Income Protection applications, making fair and consistent decisions in line with underwriting philosophy.
* Underwrite and review existing contracts, applying substandard terms, loadings, and exclusions where appropriate.
* Contribute to the wider development of underwriting philosophy and strategic decision-making.
* Collaborate with marketing, distribution, and claims teams to grow expertise and deliver excellent outcomes.
What we’re looking for:
* Essential: Experience in medically underwriting life or income protection applications.
* Excellent communication skills to engage confidently with members, advisers, and medical professionals.
* Strong judgement, attention to detail, and a methodical approach.
* Ability to work collaboratively in a smaller, supportive team where your voice is heard.
* Confidence using Microsoft Office.
