Gym Supervisor – Brighton Beach House

Key Responsibilities
* Supervise daily gym activities, ensuring a safe, clean and welcoming environment for members and guests.
* Support and motivate the fitness team—personal trainers and instructors—to deliver excellent service.
* Monitor gym equipment, report faults promptly and follow up on repairs and maintenance.
* Lead by example, interacting with members, offering guidance on equipment use and fostering a positive atmosphere.
* Ensure compliance with health & safety procedures, including daily checks, risk assessments and incident reporting.
* Assist with induction of new members, demonstrating equipment and providing safe exercise techniques.
* Help organise and support fitness events, classes and challenges to drive member engagement.
* Uphold gym policies and etiquette, addressing any breaches professionally.
* Assist with staff rosters and cover shifts as required.
What We Are Looking For
* Previous experience in a fitness or gym supervisory role, or significant experience as a senior fitness instructor or personal trainer.
* Strong knowledge of gym equipment and fitness floor operations.
* Good understanding of health & safety; First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
* Excellent communication and people skills, with a positive and approachable manner.
* Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification essential; Level 3 Personal Trainer desirable.
* Organised, reliable and confident in handling member feedback or concerns.
Required Skills & Qualifications
* Flexible schedule: ability to work nights, weekends and holidays as required.
* Capacity to multitask and excel in a high‑volume, fast‑paced environment.
* Interest in wellness and a strong commitment to customer care.
Physical Requirements
* Must be able to lift, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
* Must be able to work on feet for at least 8 hours.
* Fast‑paced movements required to navigate different areas of the club.
* Occasional kneeling, bending, crouching and climbing as required.
Working Hours
Shift times vary across the seven days of the week, including evenings, weekends, open and close duties.
Location
Brighton Beach House, Brighton, East Sussex, UK (Nearest station: Brighton, BN2 1AY). Club hours: Mon‑Thu 8 am–11 pm; Fri‑Sat 8 am–1 am; Sun 8 am–1 am.
