Location: Old Colwyn, Conwy Rate of pay: £14.80 per hour About me: I am looking for a reliable long-term personal assistant/support worker to support me in my home in Old Colwyn, Conwy, paying close attention to my dignity. I am a friendly and sociable adult lady, I am a full time wheelchair user living with fibromyalgia and cerebral palsy and currently live with my family in a none smoking household. I have a friendly pet dog in the home and I enjoy socialising; I go to the local library to attend groups, and also to crafts clubs in my local area. I am looking for a female personal assistant with excellent verbal communication skills to support me with my morning personal care. Experience in a similar role in your career or caring for a family member/friend is essential, please demonstrate this on your application. There is the opportunity to attend training courses to learn the required skills such as manual handling and dignity training, so we welcome applicants who are willing to learn. Task and duties, to include any or all the following: o supervising/ supporting me to get out of bed and into my wheelchair on the days required. o Allowing time for my muscles to wake up properly o Disposing of incontinence pads o Stripping wet bedding and placing them in the washing machine, wipe mattress and reapplying clean bedding o Cleaning traces of incontinence, mopping floors if required. Make sure bedroom is tidy. o Supporting with being hoisted into the bath using a ceiling hoist. bathing and washing my body, hair removal when required. turning onto my stomach in the bath for health benefits. I am able to be left alone whilst on her stomach in the bath and other tasks can be carried out. o Hair washed and dried every other day o Support with ensuring skin is completely dried, applying creams and dressing into clothes o Supervising/ supporting to sit back in the wheelchair Any other duties not mentioned but that fall within the scope of this role should be discussed and then mutually agreed.
