We have an exciting opportunity for a VCA to join our team
The role of a VCA is to support the veterinary team in the day-to-day running of the practice, delivering high standards of care to patients and providing excellent service to clients. The VCA assists with animal handling, patient care, cleanliness, and administrative duties.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours and week and may require the successful applicant to work at any of our branches across Torbay and Teignbridge.
* Handle and restrain animals safely and compassionately
* Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and clinical areas
* Prepare equipment, instruments, and surgical kits for procedures
* Feed, exercise, and monitor in-patients under supervision
* Assist with laboratory tests and diagnostic procedures
* Maintain accurate patient and client records
* Manage stock control and replenishment
* Provide empathetic support to pet owners
* Carry out reception duties as required
Qualifications & Education
* Minimum: 5 GCSEs or equivalent (including English, Maths, and Science)
* Willingness to undertake further training and CPD
Experience
* Prior experience working with animals (e.g., in a kennel, shelter, farm, or vet practice) preferred
* Experience in customer service is advantageous
