GSL Education are currently seeking a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive Primary School in Eastbourne. This role is perfect for someone with prior experience in Special Educational Needs who is passionate about making a meaningful and lasting impact in children's lives.
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
Provide support to pupils with various special educational needs, such as autism, ADHD, and social, emotional, and mental health challenges.
Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to implement personalised support strategies and interventions.
Encourage positive behaviour in both classroom and non-classroom settings.
Aid students during lessons to ensure full participation in learning activities.
Develop strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff members, and families.
Promote emotional resilience and assist pupils in building their social and interpersonal skills.
Skills & Requirements for SEN TA:
Experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or care environment.
Calm, patient, and optimistic approach, even in challenging situations.
Solid understanding of safeguarding guidelines and effective SEN support strategies.
Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one.
A detailed CV covering the past 10 years, with all gaps fully accounted for.
