If you are a Consultant Psychiatrist who wants more than a maintenance role, this Consultant Psychiatrist position offers the opportunity to help build a brand-new acute Mental Health service from the ground up.
You will join at launch stage, shaping care pathways, influencing culture, and working closely with senior leadership to embed safe, high-quality inpatient practice from day one.
This is a role for a Consultant Psychiatrist who values clinical standards, understands the Mental Health Act, and wants genuine input into how a service evolves. You will act as Responsible Clinician, supported by non-consultant grade doctors and a Lead Consultant Psychiatrist, within a structured governance framework.

About the Company
You will be joining a large, established independent healthcare provider delivering specialist Mental Health, Neurological, Learning Disability and Autism services across England and Wales. The organisation operates within a strong clinical governance structure and offers long-term career progression across a national network of services.
Key Responsibilities
Act as Responsible Clinician for patients admitted under the Mental Health Act, ensuring safe assessment, treatment and discharge.
Lead CPA and ICR processes to maintain full compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
Deliver evidence-based care in line with NICE guidance and oversee medication management.
Contribute to clinical governance, quality assurance, complaints management and service development.
About You
GMC-registered Consultant Psychiatrist with MRCPsych or equivalent and previous substantive Consultant experience.
Experience working in inpatient settings with patients treated under the Mental Health Act.
Strong understanding of contemporary mental health legislation, governance and service development within regulated environments.
