With a significant pipeline of projects focused on improving treatment facilities, infrastructure resilience, and environmental performance, they're expanding their in-house engineering capabilities and seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join the growing design team.
? What You’ll Be Doing
As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you’ll be involved in the full lifecycle of design across a broad range of infrastructure and treatment projects. You’ll work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to deliver mechanical engineering solutions that are efficient, sustainable, and aligned with regulatory and operational standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Developing mechanical designs from initial concept through to detailed design
* Ensuring designs meet performance, safety, and environmental requirements
* Supporting project delivery teams with technical input across planning and execution stages
* Mentoring and developing junior engineers within the discipline
* Driving innovation and continuous improvement across mechanical design standards
* Collaborating with internal stakeholders and delivery partners to ensure successful outcomes
? What You’ll Bring
We’re looking for a forward-thinking, practical engineer with a collaborative mindset and a strong foundation in mechanical design. You’ll also bring:
* A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
* Chartered status or working towards (e.g., IMechE)
* Demonstrable experience in the design of infrastructure or treatment assets (e.g., pumping stations, process plant)
* Knowledge of mechanical design tools and relevant industry standards
* The ability to manage multiple projects and deliver to tight deadlines
* A proactive, solutions-focused approach and excellent communication skills
