Robert Half Cambridge are partnered with a business in Chatteris in their search for an Assistant Accountant to join their Finance Department.
This role will report into the Financial Director and support with providing weekly and monthly reporting, including managing the Nominal Ledger. This role is based in the office on a hybrid basis and paying a salary up to £40,000 depending on experience.
Responsibilities:
1. Management of the nominal ledger ensuring that it is kept up to date and accurate, including reconciling balance sheet accounts etc.
2. Supporting the Finance Team, ensuring all accounting ledgers are kept up to date and accurate.
3. Assisting in the Preparation of monthly management accounts with comparison budget and branch performance analysis to strict timetable.
4. Business partnering with senior management team, supporting and advising them on potential issues and opportunities. Supporting them with interpretation of financial results and information to provide insight that provides insight to improve company performance.
5. Supporting the year-end audit process, including assisting in the preparation of statutory accounts for audit and presentation to Directors, preparing audit schedules and dealing with audit questions etc.
6. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, including influencing, coaching and challenging budget holders in understanding the impact of their results and forecasts across the wider business.
Skills and qualifications:
7. Ability to meet strict deadlines
8. Competent in the use of Excel and other Microsoft packages such as Word, Outlook.
9. Strong interpersonal & communication skills
