Contract & Hours
This is a zero hours contract.
Hours: 12 Friday evenings from November to the end of March and to run 8 match days, mainly on a Sunday and during the week in school holidays.
Salary
£20 per hour. Match days £100 per day (under review).

Role Title: Girls' Pathway Coach (U11 & U12 West Early Engagement)
Reports To: Girls' Pathway Lead Coach
Location: Various venues across Sussex
Contract: Casual/Part-Time (Evenings, Weekends, and School Holidays as required)
Purpose of the Role
The Girls' Pathway Coach (U11 & U12 Early Engagement) will play a key role in introducing and developing talented young female cricketers within Sussex Cricket's Girls' Pathway. The role focuses on inspiring and nurturing players at the earliest stages of the pathway, ensuring a fun, inclusive and supportive environment that develops fundamental cricket skills, builds confidence, and instils a lifelong love of the game.
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver engaging and age-appropriate coaching sessions for U11 and U12 Girls' Pathway squads, aligned to Sussex Cricket's coaching philosophy.
* Provide a positive, safe and inclusive environment where players can learn, develop and enjoy their cricket.
* Plan, deliver and review sessions to support both individual player development and team progress.
* Work closely with the Girls' Pathway Lead Coach and wider coaching team to ensure a joined-up approach across all age groups.
* Support the identification and progression of talented players into the Sussex Cricket Girls' Pathway.
* Provide feedback and reports on player development to parents/guardians and the Pathway Lead Coach.
* Be a role model for players, promoting behaviours aligned with Sussex Cricket's values and culture.
* Maintain professional standards at all times, ensuring safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare responsibilities are fully met.
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
* ECB Core Coach or ECB Level 2 (or equivalent) coaching qualification.
* Experience of working with young players (preferably within a talent pathway or club/school environment).
* Strong understanding of developing fundamental cricket skills in children.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire and motivate.
* A commitment to creating a safe, fun, and inclusive environment for all players.
* An understanding of safeguarding and child protection (current DBS check required).
Desirable
* Experience of working within a county, regional or national talent pathway.
* Knowledge of female player development within cricket.
* First Aid qualification.
