Mythe Medical Practice based in Tewkesbury have an opening fora 2 session a week GP looking to join under the Retained GP Scheme
This post is ideal for a GP who wishes to maintain anddevelop their skills in general practice but, due to personal circumstances(e.g. caring responsibilities, health, portfolio work), is unable to commit toa full or larger part time role.
Main duties of the job
Salaried GP - NHS retained GP scheme - 2 sessions per week on a Wednesday, preferably.
some duty sessions on a pro rata basis.
About us
Our 9 GPs (6 partners and 3 salaried) are supported by awider clinical team comprising of 2 nurse practitioners, 5 practice nurses, 3HCAs and 2 part time clinical pharmacists.The administrative and management team is made up of long-standing staffwith a varied and strong administrative and management wealth of experience andknowledge, including nursing specialist trained in chronic disease management, QOFrecalls management team and a team of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.
We are a training practice hosting up to 3 GP registrars atany one time and we are currently supporting 2 medical students from Three CountiesMedical School.
Our internal focus is on wellbeing of our staff, achieved withvarious protected learning events, staff wellbeing sessions (such as yoga runby one of our salaried GPs), regular meetings sharing clinical knowledge andproviding support to colleagues.

Job responsibilities
A Salaried GP works as an autonomous practitioner, responsible forthe provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering anexcellent standard of clinical care while complying with the contract.
Furthermore, the post-holder willadhere to the GMC standards for good medical practice, contributing to theeffective management of the practice, leading by example, maintaining apositive, collaborative working relationship with the multidisciplinary team.
The role is to support, mentor, andsupervise other healthcare professionals within the organisation and be anintegral part of the general practice team.
The following are the coreresponsibilities of the Salaried GP in delivering health services.
* a.Thedelivery of highly effective medical care to the entitled population
* b.Theprovision of services commensurate with the primary care contract
* c.Toclinically examine and assess patient needs from a physiological andpsychological perspective and plan clinical care accordingly referring patientsto other services/agencies in a timely manner, utilising Practice and any otherlocal guidelines
* d.Genericprescribing adhering to local and national guidance
* e.Prioritisehealth problems and intervene appropriately to assist the patient in complex,urgent or emergency situations, including initiation of effective emergencycare
* f.Effectivemanagement of long-term conditions
* g.Tosupport patients to adopt health promotion strategies that promote healthylifestyles and apply principles of self-care
* h.Processingof administration in a timely manner, including referrals, repeat prescriptionrequests and other associated administrative tasks
* i.Reviewmedications following the appropriate policies, NICE/local clinical guidelinesand local care pathways
* j.Maintainaccurate clinical records in conjunction with good practice, policy andguidance
* k.Workcollaboratively, accepting an equal share of the practice workload

Qualifications
* Fully qualified GP - registered or about to register with MRCGP
* Vocational Training Certificate (JCPTGP)
* Certificate of completion of training (CCT)
* Conforms to the National Performers List and is able to perform any such service as detailed within Regulation 24 of the National Health Service (Performers Lists) (England) Regulations 2013.
* Evidence of current validation
* Evidence of last appraisal
* Proof of eligibility to independently practice in the UK
* Appropriate defence indemnity - proof of (will be added to practice policy on successful completion of probationary period)
* Experience of working in a primary care environment
