Job Title: Event Marketing & Communications Executive Location: Bristol, Hybrid Reports To: Portfolio Director The Role This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and creative marketer to take ownership of our event marketing, communications, and social strategy for the performance unit, consisting of our flagship show PI LIVE and two awards shows. Reporting to the Portfolio Director, you’ll play a key role in driving attendance, boosting community engagement, and enhancing the overall reach and reputation of our events. You’ll collaborate closely with internal teams, sponsors, and external partners to ensure consistent, effective messaging across all channels - and you’ll have clear KPIs to measure your success. This role suits someone who’s proactive, curious, and thrives in a fast-paced environment where no two days are quite the same. What you’ll be doing Plan, write, and deliver compelling newsletters and event communications to drive registrations and audience engagement. Design and run a 12-month community plan for PI LIVE that keeps our audience engaged between shows, supports sponsors and creates a strong pipeline for delegate and awards growth. Develop and execute social media strategies across LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook. Own and manage the external communications calendar to ensure consistency and clarity across all touchpoints. Create visually engaging content using Canva/Adobe Express for emails, social, and other campaign needs. Lead briefing and planning for videography and photography to ensure strong content capture aligned with campaign goals. Set up paid ads across LinkedIn and Meta. Collaborate with referral partners and sponsors to activate co-marketing campaigns and drive community engagement. Track campaign performance and apply a test-and-learn approach to improve results. Suggest new formats, tools, or creative ideas to improve reach, engagement, or efficiency - and take the lead in trialling them where appropriate. Work with the Portfolio Director on execution of the broader event marketing plan, including budget tracking, reporting, and ROI analysis. Key Skills & Experience Proven copywriting skills with a strong understanding of audience engagement and tone of voice. Keen interest and deep knowledge of social media platforms and content strategies. Highly organised, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. Proficient in Canva, Adobe Express or similar. What would set you apart? B2B or event marketing experience. Running paid campaigns across major platforms. HubSpot CRM experience. Knowledge of performance and affiliate marketing. Comfortable creating short-form video or working with videographers. Experience with community platforms such as Slack, Circle or Discord, or with an event app community.
