Lead, Grow and Shape a Litigation Department
An established and highly regarded high street full-service law firm is seeking a Head of Litigation to lead and develop its growing disputes team.
With a strong local reputation and a diverse client base spanning individuals and businesses, this is a great opportunity to take ownership of a key department within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary practice.
This role is ideal for an experienced litigation solicitor looking for autonomy, leadership responsibility and a clear pathway to partnership.

The Role: Head of Litigation
As Head of Litigation, you will lead a small but busy litigation team. You'll manage a varied caseload while playing a central role in growing and shaping the department.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and develop the litigation/disputes department
* Manage a broad caseload including:
o Civil litigation and small claims
o Settlement agreements
o Property disputes
o Occasional higher-value/complex disputes
o Contentious probate matters (as required)
* Provide early-stage commercial dispute advice and strategy
* Convert enquiries into fee-paying work
* Build relationships with internal teams to maximise cross-referrals
* Undertake networking and business development activity
* Supervise and support junior team members, including a trainee
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Solicitor with strong litigation/disputes experience
* Proven ability (or readiness) to lead a department
* Broad skillset across civil and commercial disputes
* Commercial awareness with the ability to convert enquiries into revenue
* Collaborative mindset and strong interpersonal skills
* Interest in business development and growing a practice
* Ideally based locally or within commuting distance
