Position Description
At CGI, you will help design and deliver secure, resilient network solutions that underpin mission‑critical systems across the Space, Defence and Intelligence sector. As a Network Engineer, you will enable high‑performance, secure connectivity across complex environments, ensuring reliability and compliance. Working with clients, partners and expert teams, you will take ownership of network challenges, apply innovative solutions, and develop your career within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Space, Defence and Intelligence business unit in CGI is a true IT Systems Integrator. We work, build, and operate bespoke, technically complex, mission‑critical systems which help our clients keep us all safe and secure. We bring innovation to our clients using proven and emerging technologies, agile delivery processes and our deep expertise across the breadth of space, defence, intelligence, aerospace and maritime, all underpinned by our end‑to‑end cyber capability.
Due to the secure nature of the programme, you will need to hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to go through this clearance. This position will be based on site near Gloucester or in Central London, 5 days a week.
Responsibilities
* Design & Deliver secure network infrastructure across hybrid environments
* Configure & Maintain routing, switching and network security components
* Integrate & Support connectivity with cloud platforms
* Monitor & Optimise network performance, availability and resilience
* Troubleshoot & Resolve network incidents and technical issues
* Collaborate & Deliver with internal teams and external partners
* Report & Communicate network performance, risks and operational updates
Qualifications
* Strong experience in network engineering within enterprise or secure environments, with a solid understanding of routing, switching and security principles.
* Proven experience in network engineering.
* Strong proficiency in routing and switching technologies.
* Solid understanding of network security principles.
* Experience with cloud networking.
* Experience in network monitoring and performance management.
* Proven ability in troubleshooting and incident resolution.
* Exposure to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (desirable).
* Experience with firewalls, security appliances or network automation (advantageous).
* Understanding of secure environments and compliance requirements (advantageous).
* Hold UK Security Clearance or be eligible to undergo clearance.
* Role tier: LI‑SB2.
