THE TEAM
You’ll join the Performance function, responsible for SEO, SEM, CRO, CRM, paid media, and digital strategy. The SEO capability is supported by two established offshore specialists already delivering strong work.
The environment is highly collaborative — you will partner closely with account management, content, and development teams to ensure SEO best practice is embedded across every project and site launch.
THE ROLE
This is a hands-on and strategic SEO leadership role responsible for elevating SEO across technical excellence, content effectiveness, and evolving search landscapes including AI-led discovery.
You will have full ownership of SEO direction for multiple clients while line-managing and improving delivery through two offshore SEO specialists.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading end-to-end SEO strategy — technical, content, and performance.
* Running technical audits and partnering closely with development teams to guide fixes and implementation.
* Shaping keyword strategy and content optimisation to drive visibility and revenue.
* Evaluating AI-driven changes to search (AI Overviews, LLMs) and adapting strategies accordingly.
* Delivering clear, commercial narratives when presenting strategy and results to clients.
* Conducting competitor analysis to identify opportunities and inform growth roadmaps.
* Managing workload and quality assurance of offshore SEO resources.
* Supporting pitches, upsell initiatives, and wider thought leadership.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* Strong experience in SEO with balanced technical and content expertise.
* Confident communicator — able to simplify SEO complexity for non-technical audiences.
* Technical depth — capable of auditing, identifying what’s broken, and guiding dev teams to solutions.
* Strong editorial understanding — from keyword research to content structure and optimisation.
* Experience operating in a fast-paced agency environment (preferred).
* Leadership qualities — able to mentor and elevate others’ output.
* Familiar with search evolution and how AI is reshaping ranking, SERPs, and user journeys.
* Fluent in key SEO tools: SEMrush, Ahrefs, Screaming Frog.
