Under the leadership of our Executive Head Housekeeper, you will assist in providing leadership to our Team, ensuring the smooth day-to-day management of the busy hotel housekeeping department. We offer learning and development opportunities to help you grow.
The successful candidate will have experience working in a hands-on, busy environment, preferably in professional cleaning, and will be able to lead, motivate, and support team members to achieve success. The position is full-time, 35 hours per week (excluding breaks), five shifts out of seven including weekends. A fully flexible approach is required as working patterns will include days, evenings and weekends.

About the Role
To assist with the management of the Housekeeping function for the greatest enjoyment of our guests and maximum resource efficiency for the hotel.
Responsibilities
* To take responsibility for the effective leadership of the housekeeping department in the absence of the Head Housekeeper, ensuring efficient operation and delivery of Hastings product and service standards.
* To promote and contribute to a harmonious working environment where all staff are treated with respect and dignity.
* To ensure quality standards and procedures are understood, implemented and reviewed, with feedback used for continual improvement.
* To ensure stock control and stock ordering policies are implemented and monitored, with action taken to resolve problems.
* To ensure all housekeeping employees receive appropriate training, coaching and development to provide effective and efficient service in line with Hastings standards.
* To maintain effective communication and relationships with other hotel departments, suppliers and agencies to maintain operation and guest satisfaction.
* To ensure all bedrooms, public and ancillary areas are properly maintained and presented to Hastings standards.
* To ensure the team are knowledgeable about hotel facilities and services and proactively promote them to guests.
* To assist guests with reasonable requests for hotel services.
* To respond to complaints and provide appropriate solutions.
* To ensure housekeeping and laundry equipment is properly maintained to maximise operating efficiency.
* To ensure the security of guest bedrooms and storage areas is maintained at all times.
* To maintain a safe environment in compliance with health, safety, fire, hygiene and security legislation and company policies.
* To continually develop knowledge relating to the industry sector and competitor activity and contribute to future plans.
* To assist with recruitment, selection and utilisation of housekeeping staff to meet peak and trough periods.
* To ensure hotel compliance with relevant legislation.
* To carry out Duty Manager duties as required.
* Any other duties as required by management.

Desired Criteria
* Previous Housekeeping experience gained within a hotel
* Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent with grades A-C in English and Maths
