Construction Project Manager – Farnborough – £60,000-£70,000 – 12 month fixed term contract
All applicants must hold an active SC clearance
My client is a UK-based consultancy serving the UK defence sector. They are seeking a Facilities Project Manager with proven construction project management experience.
Responsibilities:
* Oversee and manage the construction and fit-out process from start to finish.
* Ensure high-quality finishes while meeting project deadlines and budgets.
* Coordinate requirements and deliverables with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
* Implement and monitor health & safety procedures.
* Understand relevant technology, security characteristics, and solution options at an appropriate level.
* Develop an understanding of customers’ operational and business environments.
* Lead and motivate the project team.
* Ensure projects are delivered using appropriate methodologies.
* Maintain robust project governance, including forecasting.
* Coordinate project contracts, schedules, resources, equipment, and information.
* Share knowledge and experience effectively across projects.
* Implement and operate project assurance effectively.
Required skills:
* At least 3 years of relevant construction project management experience, with a successful track record of delivering high-value projects on time and within budget.
* Significant experience in building construction and fit-out project management.
* Experience working with SME contractors or subcontractors in design and building construction projects.
* Ability to manage and interface with senior stakeholders, both internal and external.
* Good knowledge of UK construction methodologies, building regulations, and health & safety legislation.
* Proficiency in interpreting technical documents, including drawings and schematics.
* Experience with project management software, scheduling tools, and cost estimation software.
Highly desirable skills:
* Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP) or equivalent.
* Knowledge of risk management and budget principles.
* Understanding of UK Commercial Building Regulations and approval processes.
* Experience with construction contract negotiations and claims management.
* Strong financial skills in project budgeting and cost control.
