The post holder will be responsible and accountable to the Regional Chief Midwife. Working as part of a matrix approach, the post holder will lead by example, ensuring individuals think and work outside traditional organisational or professional silos. The post holder will foster a collaborative and collective leadership approach to achieve better outcomes for women, families, and local populations through systematic, evidence-based approaches that enable improvement and transformation.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Collaborating across the NHS England matrix, including integrating the National Directors portfolio with the Domain Leads.
2. Enabling patient and public involvement by acting as a champion for service users, involving the public and patients in policy development and decision-making, and ensuring all contact is of the highest professional standard.
3. Embedding service user and public involvement at all levels of NHS England decision-making.
4. Promoting equality, creating an inclusive environment where diversity is valued, and ensuring actions meet our duty to uphold and promote equality.
5. Leading partnership and cross-boundary working to support leadership, improvement, and transformation.
6. Modeling a collaborative and influencing style of working, negotiating with others to achieve the best outcomes and embedding this approach across the Directorate.
7. Using insight and evidence to facilitate system-wide improvement and transformation, demonstrating professional credibility and authenticity.
8. Ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of all staff within the team.
9. Maintaining compliance with confidentiality, governance requirements, and professional codes of conduct, including the NHS Managers Code of Conduct.
