About The Opportunity
The Staffordshire Civil Contingencies Unit (CCU) exists to work for the responders within Staffordshire Resilience Forum to prepare for emergencies and support the response when they occur. Our team plays a significant role in supporting councils, NHS Trusts, emergency services, and other public sector organizations in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent, guided by the Civil Contingencies Act.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated manager to join our civil contingencies organization. The successful candidate will work closely with the Director of Civil Contingencies and partners to deliver excellent service.
Skills and Responsibilities
* Manage our energetic team, ensuring high-quality service delivery to the partnership and individual organizations.
* Oversee the operational delivery of the Staffordshire Resilience Forum’s strategy, including risk management, planning, training, exercising, and incident response.
* Deliver key projects that enhance multi-agency resilience within the scope of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.
The role involves project management, operating in tactical or strategic environments during incidents such as flooding, major fires, or power outages. The unit offers flexible working but requires regular office attendance and occasional out-of-hours work.
Candidate Requirements
* Degree-level education or equivalent, with excellent communication skills and IT literacy.
* Knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004, risk assessment, and contingency planning experience.
* Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement skills.
* Experience in strategy development, project management, and multi-tasking in fast-paced environments.
* Ability to design, deliver, and review multi-agency training and exercises.
