Job Description
To ensure spare parts availability is optimised while balancing store spend, manage the spares process to reduce losses associated with obsolescence, turnover, etc. Support the Technical Lead in Breakdown Analysis and develop mitigating measures; work with BDE teams to ensure new equipment is brought online with correct PM schedules and spares holding.
Reporting to the Section Engineering Manager, the role works closely with the Cell team and shift technicians. There are no direct reports, but the role requires strong relationships with the Technical Lead and Shift Technicians.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and prioritise maintenance activities by working closely with the Cell Technical Lead, Shift Technicians, planning and operations personnel to issue plans and maximise equipment uptime.
* Operate maintenance strategies by supporting the Cell Technical Lead to continuously evaluate and refine maintenance strategies to improve reliability, reduce downtime, and enhance overall equipment effectiveness.
* Monitor and track maintenance activities using CMMS or other software tools to manage work orders, record activities, monitor equipment performance, generate reports, conduct spend analysis and identify improvement opportunities.
* Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and industry standards for all maintenance activities.
* Provide training and mentoring to maintenance technicians on maintenance planning, scheduling processes, tools, and best practices.
* Collaborate with the BDE department to integrate new equipment into the maintenance program.
* Generate preventive maintenance (PM) plans with the BDE department for newly installed equipment, determining appropriate maintenance intervals, tasks, and procedures.
Skills Required
* NVQ level 3 Engineering or equivalent in a related subject.
* Computer literacy.
* Effective written, verbal, and presentational communication skills.
* Strong technical knowledge across the site’s processes & lines (Desirable).
* Excellent analytical skills.
* Strong safety‑culture orientation.
* A team player who shares best practices with other teams.
* Advanced problem‑solving abilities and the ability to work collaboratively with other teams and functions.
