Broadmead Surgery is a busy, friendly, fully computerised practice located within Grand Union Village Health Centre in Northolt. We currently have over 7,800 registered patients.
This is a permanent position of 25 hours per week. Shifts are from 13:00 to 18:30 Monday to Friday with Saturday cover 9:00–13:00 on a set rota.
Main Duties
* Provide a welcoming and efficient reception service to all visitors and telephone enquiries.
* Maintain the patient appointment system and assist with scheduling and reminders.
* Manage medical records – updating, scanning, filing and ensuring confidentiality.
* Handle repeat prescribing, actioning prescriptions and liaising with pharmacies.
* Register new patients, including new patient health checks.
* Respond to incoming calls, record accurate messages and forward promptly.
* Record requests for home visits and invitation for annual reviews in relation to QOF.
* Process incoming and outgoing correspondence, both paper and electronic.
* Assist with requests for patient information from third parties while adhering to data protection.
* Support clinical paperwork and upload referrals or information as required.
* Maintain a tidy and efficient medical records room and organise patient files.
* Ensure the reception area is organised and tidy at all times.
* Assist other administrative tasks as delegated by senior staff or Practice Manager.
* Refer complaints to senior staff or Practice Manager without delay.
* Report any health & safety or infection hazards immediately.
* Participate in personal development, appraisal schemes and team meetings.
* Adhere to safe working practices, health &safety, infection control and safeguarding policies.

Broadmead Surgery is part of Northolt Primary Care Network and provides GP services, community services such as anticoagulation and ECG, and supports staff development with in‑house and external training opportunities.
Qualifications
* GCSE or equivalent standard.
* Literate and numerate.
* Customer care skills.
* Communication skills.
* Qualification in office administration.
* CLAIT1.
* ECDL certificate.
* Knowledge of IT systems (Windows, Office).
* Knowledge of SystmOne.
* Medical terminology.
