North York Moors National Park Authority helps to look after one of the most phenomenal parts of the British Isles. Filled with beautiful moorlands and fantastic woodland, the North York Moors is a unique area with a diversity of landscape and wildlife.
We are now looking for a Project Development Manager to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week to support the development of projects that will deliver improved outcomes around recreation, health and wellbeing for all who access the special qualities of the National Park.
The Role
As a Project Development Manager, you will lead the development of projects that support recreation and wellbeing objectives across the North York Moors National Park. Specifically, you will oversee the project development pipeline, working with colleagues to shape ideas, explore funding opportunities and support the creation of strong funding applications. You will also provide leadership across the Directorate, helping to embed a strong project-focused approach to delivery in key areas such as Ranger Services, whilst also leading on the effective development and deployment of the Directorate’s Apprentice team.
* Build strong partnerships to support joined‑up project development
* Assist with managing capital projects, including contractor procurement
* Identify and develop new funding opportunities for the Directorate Apprentice Programme
* Maintain information systems to support planning and decision‑making
* Support internal and external communications across the Directorate
About You
To be considered as a Project Development Manager, you will need:
* Experience of project development, including ideation, inception and identifying funding opportunities
* Experience managing and delivering projects, including leading project teams
* Experience supporting others to develop project skills and knowledge
* Experience of contract management and procurement
* Knowledge of information systems and data management
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Excellent leadership skills
* A degree or equivalent level of relevant professional experience
Benefits
Salary of £36,362 to £39,862, with potential progression to £44,415. 25 days' annual leave, rising annually by one day to 30 days after five years’ service, plus public holidays.
