Ocean Winds: Foundations Asset Integrity Engineer
Ocean Winds is seeking a Foundations Asset Integrity Engineer for a key role reporting to the Senior Asset Integrity Manager. The position will provide support for operational projects in Ocean Winds’ UK portfolio, initially focusing on the Moray West Offshore Wind Farm.
Requirements:
1. Strong experience in structural design and analysis, with a background in civil, mechanical, or structural engineering.
2. Experience working with engineering design codes and standards, as well as from first principles.
3. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to propose innovative design solutions.
4. Specific experience in fixed and/or floating offshore structures is preferred.
5. Experience in the offshore wind sector is advantageous.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Support the Asset Integrity Lead in developing an Asset Integrity Management Strategy.
2. Provide technical support to the site-based O&M team and assist with warranty management.
3. Lead monitoring activities related to the integrity of foundations.
4. Conduct root cause analysis of defects and suggest remedial actions.
5. Utilize data analysis tools to monitor asset behavior.
6. Develop and review processes to support O&M activities.
7. Engage technical consultancy support when necessary.
8. Deliver high-quality reporting to stakeholders.
9. Ensure compliance with consenting obligations.
10. Engage with certifying bodies and external stakeholders as needed.
11. Feed improvement recommendations into company knowledge management.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
A degree in a relevant engineering discipline. Minimum of 3 years of experience in a related role with offshore foundations. Offshore wind sector experience is desirable. Asset integrity/operational engineering support role experience is a plus. Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status is advantageous.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Demonstrable knowledge in areas like offshore structural design, root cause investigations, impact of operational conditions on asset integrity, risk-based integrity management, and subsea inspection techniques. Knowledge of technical risk analysis, construction contracts, CDM Regulations, planning and consenting processes is desirable.
Languages:
Fluency in English is required. Proficiency in other languages is valued.
Location:
Based in Edinburgh or Buckie with travel to O&M facilities, offshore sites, and supplier's offices as needed.
