A new and exciting Delay Analyst job opportunity to work in Dudley with experts in a specialist Planning and Forensic Delay analysis division for an established disputes consultancy.
This client is seeking an ambitious Planner to join their Construction and Engineering disputes team, providing a range of planning and alternative dispute resolution services to clients.
This Dudley-based position is particularly suitable for planners with some disputes experience and a passion for dispute resolution work, especially those looking to gain more exposure to forensic planning and delay analysis.
The client prides itself on delivering high-quality solutions to various commercial, contractual, and strategic issues faced by the UK and international petrochemical engineering and construction industries.
The role offers the chance to work autonomously on projects and support senior delay experts in arbitration matters to help clients achieve desired legal outcomes.
Responsibilities and Duties
Specific duties include:
* Updating project programmes
* Contract administration
* Supporting contractors with NEC contracts
* Providing ad-hoc client support
* Managing contractual obligations from procurement to final account
* Scheduling, monitoring programmes, and assessing risks
* Writing reports for negotiations and dispute resolution procedures such as adjudication, mediation, and litigation
Desired Skills and Experience
* At least 2 years of experience as a construction project planner
* Good understanding of building work
* Experience in live project controls (not necessarily within disputes)
* Some exposure to delay analysis, with training available
* Ability to update and produce programmes and schedules for live projects
* Knowledge of Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject (or both)
* Exceptional report writing skills with persuasive language
* Ability to work independently
* Ambitious and aligned with the company's core values
Qualifications/Educational Requirements
* Degree in a construction-related field or equivalent qualification
* Membership to a professional body like CIOB or CIArb is advantageous
