With clarity, dedication, and a strong commercial drive, the role leads a dynamic team focused on building brand loyalty and elevating the guest experience at every touchpoint. This position oversees all Sales & Marketing operations in line with Hyatt International’s Corporate Strategies and brand standards. Working closely with Rooms, Food & Beverage, and all revenue-generating departments, the Director of Sales & Marketing plays a pivotal role in optimising occupancy, strengthening key accounts, expanding market presence, maximising total revenue, and driving sustainable profitability. Key Responsibilities Strategic & Commercial Leadership Develop and execute strategic sales plans to achieve commercial targets. Identify new market opportunities and expand the hotel’s customer base. Analyse market trends, competitor activity, and customer behaviour to shape forward-looking strategies and product enhancements. Team Leadership & Performance Lead, coach, and inspire the Sales & Marketing team to exceed performance goals. Set clear expectations, KPIs, and development pathways to cultivate a high-performing culture. Client & Stakeholder Engagement Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and industry stakeholders. Represent the hotel at conferences, trade shows, and networking events locally and across priority international markets. Commercial Stewardship Prepare monthly and quarterly reports, forecasts, and presentations for senior management. Collaborate with Rooms, F&B, Revenue, and Events to optimise total revenue and enhance guest value. Participate in Duty Manager shifts as required. Requirements Education & Background Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality or Hotel Management. Minimum 2 years’ experience in a leading commercial role within a five-star hotel environment. Based in Malta or willing to relocate. Skills & Competencies Strong commercial and analytical capabilities with the ability to forecast, budget, and make data-driven decisions in dynamic markets. Demonstrated success in building and leading high-performing teams. Effective decision maker, calm under pressure, with strong negotiation skills. Established industry relationships and recognised leadership within the local tourism sector. Excellent attention to detail with robust administrative and IT proficiency. Solid understanding of marketing across digital, social, traditional, PR, and guest-experience platforms. Excellent command of English; an additional European language is an advantage.
