This role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel expected to our Coventry Head Office or any of our Arden campuses in Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Tower Hill, Ealing, or Stratford.
Travel to other campuses will occur only when business needs arise, and visits to the Coventry Head Office may be required approximately once a month.
Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

Faculty Administration Team:
This role will be part of the Faculty Administration Team in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology (FoSST). Whilst the role will be predominantly supporting the activities of the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Law (one of three schools in the Faculty), team members are expected to work flexibly and assist across schools where required.
The School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Law comprises four departments:
* Criminology and Criminal Justice Undergraduate
* Criminology and Criminal Justice Postgraduate
* Investigation, Security and Defence
* Law
About the Role:
The Academic Administrator provides effective administrative support to a designated school, working closely with stakeholders across Schools and the Faculty to deliver academic priorities and projects. The role involves managing multiple commitments, balancing conflicting workloads, and responding efficiently to unexpected demands. Strong time management, digital literacy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office are essential. Through comprehensive support, the Academic Administrator helps ensure smooth school operations and contributes to successful academic initiatives and a collaborative institutional environment.
About You:
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Academic Administrator with the following experience:
Essential requirements:
* Training in the use of digital tools and Office 365 to support administrative tasks (use of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Highly skilled and confident communicator (in written and verbal forms) comfortable with working and liaising with diverse teams and areas of service delivery; able to always handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and professional behaviour.
* Excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to work; able to work unsupervised.
* Supporting a senior team within an organisation on a range of administrative tasks and functions (for example: planning and arranging meetings, minute taking, data collation and management) and the ability to monitor and follow-up on progress of actions/outputs and data.
Desirable requirements:
* Educated to degree level
* Experience of working in a similar role in a higher education/other educational institution in the UK; experience of working with geographically distributed team
* Experience in adhering to GDPR and related issues around protection of personal data.
* Knowledge of key current issues within the HE sector.
