The Role
To ensure the streamlined and effective operation of the NHSL Core Infrastructure IT Systems Operations team in alignment with the business and strategic objectives defined in the NHSL eHealth strategy.
The post holder will plan, co-ordinate and supervise activities within this team and will work closely with the Head of Infrastructure and other IT senior management to identify, recommend, develop and support cost effective IT Infrastructure solutions for all aspects of the organisation..
The services provided by the post holder have a direct and immediate impact on the continuity of patient care to NHSL.

What we'll need you to bring
Be educated to degree level in a relevant IT discipline with extensive experience in a senior technical supervisory/management role within an Information Technology Department.
Have experience in a health service environment and have an excellent working knowledge of all NHS and NHS Scotland IT Infrastructure guidelines and procedures.
Must have an excellent working knowledge in PC and server Operating systems and ethernet technology and possess and in depth technical knowledge of MS Windows Server and Active Directory Services.
The post requires an individual who can demonstrate the following skills;-

* Ability to manage workload, prioritise and complete routine and project workloads
* Ability to successfully work on own initiative
* Ability to project manage IT Operations projects and deliver on time, within budget and meet all agreed user requirements within a high pressure environment
* Proven ability to successfully handle multiple, complex and large scale tasks concurrently

* Proven skills of empathy with staff
* Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
* Excellent negotiation skills
* Excellent customer service orientation
1. Teamwork
* Ability to work effectively in a team with both technical and user colleagues
***The post holder must be a car owner and have a full, clean UK driving license to enable the successful dispensation of the duties related to the post**.

It would be great if you also have
* ITIL (the IT Infrastructure Library) qualified
* A recognised Project Management qualification, i.e. Prince
* Have expertise and extensive technical and managerial ability gained through practice/employment in a large scale commercial or public organisation
* Experience of working in an eHealth role
* Excellent technical working knowledge in modern Client/Server Operating system platforms, IT networking infrastructure technology and MS Windows Server
* Proven ability to manage a high pressure IT Infrastructure service delivery to provide a robust environment to NHSL customers
* Microsoft Accredited
* Knowledge of Converged Infrastructure, Vmware, within a large scale environment.
* Knowledge of various Microsoft Technologies - AD, SCCM, Azure, Intune
* Excellent oral, written, project management and presentation skills
* Relationship and performance management skills
* Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues at all levels with the organisation
* Workload and manpower planning skills
