Department of Corporate Resources – Facilities Management, Catering & Cleaning Services. Chef Manager (611142). 1 x 22.5 hours per week. Based at Stocks Lane Primary School. Band 4 SCP 3-4 £11.79 – £11.98 per hour.
An opportunity has arisen within Catering and Cleaning Services for a Chef Manager to join the team at the above site. Your main responsibility will be to lead a team in providing a complete catering operation within an agreed budget.
Responsibilities
* Lead a team to provide a complete catering operation within an agreed budget.
* Manage staff and liaise with representatives.
* Promote the services that FM Catering and Office Services offer, maximise sales and achieve customer satisfaction.
* Perform varied hands-on kitchen duties as part of the role.
Qualifications
* NVQ Level 2 in Food Preparation (Essential) or equivalent (e.g. City & Guilds 706/1 & 2).
* NVQ Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate (Essential).

* From October 2016 Central Government will be introducing a new Code of Practice as part of the Government Immigration Bill, which specifies that all public sector workers in a “customer facing” role will have the necessary level of fluency in English appropriate for the role they will be undertaking. This includes social workers, teaching staff and assistants and council employees. This will require that a person working in a “Customer Facing” role can speak, listen and understand Basic English as a minimum.
