Job Description

Are you a skilled and experienced Employee Relations professional ready to take the next step in your career? Do you thrive in environments where you can influence workplace culture and act as a trusted partner to managers and leaders?

We are working with a well-established, forward-thinking professional services firm that is looking to appoint an Employee Relations Business Partner to join their dynamic HR team. Known for their commitment to people, this organisation promotes a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing culture. This newly created role reflects the firm’s growth and continued investment in its people and internal processes.

Reporting directly to the HR Director, this is a pivotal position focused on building and maintaining a positive employee experience. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the ER strategy, guiding the leadership team through complex employee matters, and ensuring the organisation continues to operate with fairness, transparency, and compliance.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

* Acting as the primary point of contact for all employee relations matters across the business, offering advice and hands-on support to both managers and employees.
* Leading on the resolution of complex cases such as disciplinary hearings, grievances, appeals, and performance-related discussions, ensuring they are handled professionally and in line with legal and internal policy frameworks.
* Coaching and developing line managers to build capability around people management and employee relations best practice.
* Line managing and mentoring HR colleagues working within the ER function to build capacity and consistency across the team.
* Supporting employee engagement strategies by proactively identifying areas of concern or opportunity and helping shape a more engaged and inclusive workplace.
* Liaising with external stakeholders when necessary (e.g. legal counsel, mediators, occupational health).
* Monitoring employment legislation and ensuring that internal policies and procedures remain compliant and fit for purpose.
* Supporting broader HR projects, including policy development, change management, diversity & inclusion, and wellbeing initiatives.
* Preparing reports and insights for senior leadership, offering analysis of ER trends and providing recommendations for continuous improvement.

About You:

* A strong background in employee relations and HR policy, with experience of managing complex casework in a confident, pragmatic manner.
* Excellent knowledge of UK employment law and a solid understanding of HR best practices.
* Previous experience in a professional services, legal, or corporate setting is highly desirable.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build credibility and trust with stakeholders at all levels.
* A coaching mindset and the ability to influence and challenge effectively.
* A proactive, solutions-oriented approach, coupled with a calm and professional manner when dealing with sensitive issues.
* Experience in managing or mentoring HR professionals is preferred.
* A CIPD qualification (or currently working towards) would be advantageous.

Why Join This Organisation?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly respected firm that genuinely values its people. You’ll be working in a collaborative, high-performing HR team where your voice will be heard, and your expertise will make a real difference.

In return, you can expect:

* A supportive, inclusive culture where personal and professional growth are encouraged.
* Flexible working options, including hybrid and condensed hours.
* The chance to contribute to meaningful HR and employee experience initiatives.
* A competitive benefits package and long-term career development prospects.
