Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: September 2025 (or earlier by negotiation)
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience + SEN allowance

Are you an experienced and compassionate educator with a passion for inclusive education? Our client, a dynamic and forward-thinking academy based in Kent, is seeking a committed and knowledgeable SENCo to lead and develop their provision for students with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).

This is a vital leadership role offering the opportunity to shape the school's SEND strategy, support staff, and ensure all students receive the personalised support they need to thrive.

Our client is a well-respected academy that serves a diverse community and prides itself on its inclusive values, strong pastoral care, and ambitious academic standards. The school is committed to ensuring that every student—regardless of background or ability—achieves their full potential in a supportive, aspirational learning environment.

As SENCo, you will oversee the strategic development and day-to-day operation of SEND policy and provision across the school. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to identify needs early, implement tailored support, and monitor progress closely.

You will also lead on EHCP processes, manage learning support staff, and ensure high-quality teaching and interventions for all students with additional needs.

Minimum Requirements:

* Hold the NASENCo qualification (or be willing to complete it)

* Have a strong understanding of the SEND Code of Practice and current legislation

* Be an experienced teacher with a proven track record of supporting pupils with SEND

* Demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills

* Be able to work collaboratively with staff, parents and external professionals

* Be passionate about creating inclusive learning environments where all students can succeed

Benefits:

* A supportive, collaborative staff culture and strong leadership team

* Ongoing professional development, including support with qualifications

* The opportunity to make a real impact on pupils' outcomes and wellbeing

* Access to excellent resources and a well-established SEND team

* A commitment to staff wellbeing and work-life balance

This is an exciting opportunity to lead inclusive practice and make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
