Job Description
This role in the National Portfolio Management Office will support the allocation of funding within our investment portfolio to ensure resources are effectively directed towards achieving flood outcomes. Responsibilities include collaborating with team members and external partners, seeking technical input, and working with local teams to manage allocations. The role also involves ensuring well-managed programmes and supporting activities to improve outcomes, particularly developing new ways of working for a new investment programme starting in April 2026.

The role involves:
* Supporting analysis of FCRM programme information to aid future allocation decisions
* Presenting information, risks, and issues to senior managers and boards
* Serving as a technical lead for allocation and funding
* Leading in Portfolio Management
* Responding to technical queries through incident and day-to-day tasks
* Supporting and managing the FCRM Refresh process
This position is within the FCRM directorate, under the Portfolio Management Assurance and Commercial department.
Our team manages funding allocation and performance at the portfolio level to meet corporate goals, working collaboratively with stakeholders within the EA and Defra. We value development, wellbeing, and inclusion.
Experience/Skills Required

* Experience with data sets, spreadsheets, analysis tools
* Ability to produce graphics and presentations
* FCRM or programming experience; portfolio management experience is desirable but not essential
Additional Information
The team is dispersed nationwide; this is a hybrid role with no fixed location, requiring occasional travel to Birmingham and London. All staff must undertake training and participate in incident response duties, which are essential for supporting communities and environmental protection. Details are in the candidate pack.
