We are looking to appoint 2 x Stop Smoking Health Improvement Advisors to join our multi‑skilled team of delivery staff in the Public Health department. This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic and growing service, supporting people to stop smoking.
Responsibilities
* Independent delivery of telephone, digital, and face‑to‑face behaviour change interventions.
* Provide smoking cessation support to clients, following specialist protocols to support those with additional needs or severe mental illness.
* Develop and maintain effective relationships with mental health professionals and other members of the client’s care team.
* Liaise with clinical teams (consultant psychiatrists, mental health support workers, nurses, GP, etc.) to update on quit attempts and inform reviews of antipsychotic/antidepressant dosing.
* Engage in reflective practice, supervision, and training sessions to support quality delivery.
* Efficiently manage a caseload of clients with additional support needs.
* Adhere to safeguarding processes following disclosures of risk of harm or concerns relating to vulnerable adults.
* Support clients to identify health and wellbeing priorities and barriers, signposting and providing support to remove barriers.
* Deliver training and support to professionals in community and mental health settings.
* Attend face‑to‑face team meetings and training as required.
Qualifications
* Excellent communication and listening skills.
* Knowledge of behaviour change theories and practices.
* Experience working with individuals and vulnerable groups within local communities.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Good IT literacy to maintain accurate client records.
* Driving licence and a vehicle for travel across Derbyshire (advantageous).
* Flexibility to meet service needs, including evenings and weekends.
The role will include working 5 days of 7 and includes evening and weekend working.
