Job Purpose
To provide operational management of the Healthy Little Minds service, embedded into existing care pathways to support parents/carers and infants aged 0‑2 years. The role focuses on promoting positive infant mental health through early intervention, assessment, risk management, formulation, direct evidence‑based interventions, group work and professional consultation.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
* Lead the operational management of the Healthy Little Minds service, ensuring early identification of infants’ mental health needs and parent‑infant relationships through effective screening and delivery of quality services.
* Provide operational leadership and full line management of the team, including recruitment, supervision, training, performance management, wellbeing, health and safety, finance, data management and reporting, in line with policy and procedures.
* Work with the Healthy Little Minds stakeholder group, co‑produce and co‑develop the service with parent volunteers, embedding a partnership approach to its development.
* Collaborate closely with commissioners to ensure the service meets their expectations, communicating barriers or challenges promptly.
* Safeguard children from harm and meet the support needs of children and families through preventative and early interventions, using effective assessment, risk management and safeguarding practices.
* Ensure learning from the Directorate Learning Improvement Framework, maintaining a robust evidence base of interventions, accurate case recording and outcomes.
* Support and oversee the team to conduct assessments, formulate plans and implement interventions tailored to individual infant and family needs.
* Coordinate the running of therapeutic groups and manage case loads in partnership with the allocated University for service evaluation.
* Lead change management in response to government agendas and local policies, ensuring the service remains fit for purpose.
* Resolve complaints in line with the Children Act 1989, Working Together 2015, National Minimum Standards and Nottingham City Council policies.
* Prepare accurate progress reports for Directorate targets and service measures, working with commissions around agreed KPIs.
* Maintain relationships with other city departments, agencies and voluntary organisations, acting as a departmental representative at relevant forums.
* Embed trauma‑informed culture, meaningful co‑production and participation as core values of the service from mobilisation.
* Ensure compliance with Nottingham City Manager policy, GDPR, health and safety, performance management and financial regulations.
* Deputise for the Healthy Little Minds Service Lead when required.
* Lead up to 14 colleagues, including Advanced Specialists, Specialist Practitioners, Family Support Workers, an Analysis & Insight Officer, Business Support Officers and students.
