Transport Supervisor Eco Providers, Dutton Manor Mill, Clitheroe Road, PR3 2YT About us: To oversee the day-to-day supervision of the vehicle fleet and driver workforce, ensuring all vehicles are roadworthy, compliant, and maintained in line with regulatory and company standards. This role focuses on proactive vehicle upkeep, defect reporting, legal compliance, and supporting driver performance and safety. Key Responsibilities Vehicle & Fleet Management Monitor and maintain the condition of all company vehicles, ensuring they are roadworthy and presented to a high standard. Schedule and coordinate routine inspections, servicing, MOTs, and maintenance in collaboration with our inhouse mechanic or external providers. Manage and action vehicle defect reports submitted by drivers, ensuring timely repairs and rectification. Oversee vehicle cleanliness, security, and branding standards. Compliance & Legal Standards Ensure the entire fleet complies with DVSA, VOSA, and internal standards for vehicle safety, emissions, and documentation. Keep up-to-date records of vehicle maintenance, inspections, MOTs, insurance, and servicing using fleet management systems. Notify insurance providers promptly of any changes to the vehicle fleet, driver assignments, usage categories, or risk-related information to maintain accurate and valid cover. Ensure drivers operate within legal parameters (tachograph, vehicle checks, licence requirements). Support the preparation for audits or roadside inspections, ensuring documentation is accurate and available. Perform regular driving licence checks of all drivers. Driver Support & Supervision Conduct vehicle and equipment handovers with new and current drivers, including checklists and briefing on operational standards. Ensure all drivers are completing vehicle safety checks and defect logs accurately. Investigate driver-reported vehicle issues or incidents and liaise with maintenance teams for resolution. Support training and coaching of drivers on vehicle-related matters, including safe use, pre-use checks, and reporting processes. Accident & Incident Response Log and investigate any incidents or breakdowns involving company vehicles. Liaise with insurance, maintenance, and health & safety teams as needed. Ensure follow-up actions are implemented, and learnings are communicated to reduce future risk. Administration & Reporting Maintain accurate records in line with company policy and legal requirements via our CRM system. Provide regular reports to management on vehicle condition, downtime, costs, and compliance performance. Assist in the procurement or disposal of vehicles and associated equipment. Monitor, manage, and process traffic and parking fines or penalties, ensuring timely payment and accurate record-keeping. Required Qualifications & Experience At least 3 years experience in a transport, fleet, or vehicle maintenance supervisory role. Strong knowledge of commercial vehicle compliance and UK road transport legislation. Familiarity with vehicle defect reporting systems and workshop coordination. Full UK Driving Licence (LGV/HGV licence preferred but not essential). Skills & Competencies Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to vehicle management. Strong communication and team supervision skills. Well-organised and confident using digital fleet systems and Microsoft Office. Capable of balancing compliance, safety, and operational requirements under pressure.
