The FA are excited to be searching for a group of consultants to join us as National Performance Centre Coaches.

The FA are relaunching the FA Centre of Refereeing Excellence (FA CORE) and is seeking six outstanding coaches to support the Advanced Group. This group will consist of 30 referees who have been identified as referees with high potential within FA Refereeing.

The Advanced Group is a two-year, invitation-only programme designed to prepare referees for refereeing within the professional game. It will provide an enriching, high-performance education and development experience tailored to the needs of each official. Coaches will play a vital role in guiding these referees through a bespoke programme of in-person and remote coaching, national camps, and individualised support.

In-person national camps will take place at St. George's Park, the home of England's National Teams, providing a world-class environment to support elite development.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of elite refereeing in England.

What You'll Do?

1. Provide regular, structured coaching and mentoring for referees in the Advanced Group, tailored to individual needs.
2. Attend Advanced Group residential camps and online sessions.
3. Deliver weekly in-person and/or virtual coaching visits with assigned referees.
4. Utilise video analysis and modern coaching tools to support referee performance.
5. Produce clear, insightful progress reports and feedback for each assigned referee
6. Work closely with the National Referee Talent Managers to deliver an aligned and impactful development programme.
7. Promote diversity, inclusion, and modern teaching methodologies throughout all delivery.
8. Executes additional tasks as required to meet the FA's changing priorities.
9. Comply with all company policies and procedures to ensure the highest standards of health, safety, and wellbeing can be maintained.
10. As part of the FA's commitment to ensuring a safe environment for everyone in football, every employee will be required to complete a DBS check. The level of the check required will be based on the activity of the specific job role and in line with legislation and government guidance.

What You'll Need?

Essential for the role:

11. Current or previous experience coaching referees within a talent ID programme.
12. Proven track record of developing referees who have progressed to officiate in professional football.
13. Advanced technical knowledge and understanding of refereeing.
14. Demonstrable ability to use diverse, adaptable, and modern coaching techniques.
15. Availability to attend Advanced Group camps, meetings, and conduct weekly coaching visits.
16. Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and the ability to motivate and challenge referees.
17. Experience in writing progress reports.

Beneficial to have:

18. Experience as an international or domestic professional match official and/or coach.
19. Familiarity with high-performance environments and standards.
